St Alban Fire Station
Bronze DofE participants from Townsend CofE School in St Albans, Hertfordshire, have taken part in a 12 week fire skills course at St Albans Fire Station learning about the work of the Fire Service.
The course was run by firefighter Dave Chatfield and over the course the young people took part in various activities including hose running,  rescuing bodies from a smoking building whilst wearing breathing apparatus and emergency first aid training.
The DofE participants ended their course with a pass out parade for parents and teachers which showcased their new found skills.
St Albans Fire Station have also invited Townsend DofE participants to take part in a new project which will raise fire safety awareness among primary school students, begining in late September.
Practising some of their new skills!
