Young Enterprise Scotland – Company programme

This flagship programme is the ultimate enterprise experience. Young people set up and run a real company for a year with guidance from a business volunteer and have the chance to compete with other schools learning critical business skills and positive learning outcomes while they do so.  The YES Company Programme involves students in S5 & S6 setting up and running their own company in school over the course of one academic year.  They elect a board of directors from amongst their peers, raise share capital and market and finance a product or service of their own choice, in doing so learning about all aspects of business such as market research, finance, sales, production or service provision, customer service and HR.

If you would like more information about Young Enterprise Scotland please visit http://www.yes.org.uk/what-we-do/secondary-schools/company-programme.htm

LEDGERSTONE SURVEY OF ENGLAND & WALES - Possible volunteering opportunity

By taking part in this survey as part of your silver or gold volunteering section you would be saving the nation’s history. The stones on the floors of churches contain the history of our country and they are being eroded by footfall and building of kitchens and toilets in churches. Now is the time to save them!

All we require is for you to photograph the stones, measure them and copy out the inscription onto a form on the internet. All data is being stored online so there is no need for any paperwork, except of course when you copy it in the church.

After all the stones in one church are recorded we need an index and floor plan and some details about the church and its location. Why not join us in the survey and contribute to a valuable national archive?
